Chat memory
Companion chat summaries, long-term preference memory, and clearing sessions—how they differ and how to view or delete them.
What this guide covers
YOYO has three layers related to “memory” that are easy to mix up. This page explains what each stores, where to manage it, and how that differs from clearing a session.
Three kinds of “memory”
| Name | What it stores | How long | Where to manage |
|---|---|---|---|
| YOYO's understanding of me (L1 summary) | Recent topic summaries per chat style, for continuing chats | About 3 months | YOYO settings → YOYO's understanding of me |
| My memory (L2 long-term preference) | Long-term preferences you confirmed (habits, nicknames, etc.) | Until you edit or delete | Me → Memory; or Settings → Privacy & AI |
| Notes | Space notes written with “remember…” in chat | With space entries | Space → Notes |
YOYO's understanding of me is not written into tasks/documents and is different from My memory.
YOYO's understanding of me
What it is
During companion chat, YOYO creates a short summary for each chat style (e.g. Buddy) so Continue last topic feels natural next time.
Where to open it
Settings → YOYO settings → YOYO's understanding of me
or related links on YOYO settings → Adjust chat voice style.
What you can do
- Preview summaries per style and see update times
- Delete memory for one style
- Clear all companion memory
Memories awaiting your confirmation
On the Chat voice style subpage, if YOYO drafts content that could go into My memory, it lists entries awaiting confirmation. Choose Confirm add or Dismiss. After confirmation, they appear under Me → Memory (not L1 summaries).
Preference switches (L2)
At the top of Settings → Privacy & AI:
- Use my memory in chat — whether long-term preferences are injected into YOYO
- AI memory assistant — AI extract/suggest and similarity checks (uses points)
List management stays on Me → Memory (page title: My memory).
vs. Clear session data
| Clear session data | Delete companion memory | |
|---|---|---|
| Target | Chat bubbles in the current context | Topic summaries (L1) |
| Entry | YOYO settings → Clear session data | YOYO settings → YOYO's understanding of me |
| Tasks / space data | Not deleted | Not deleted |

LINE and App
- Continue chat and summary management are fuller in the App / browser.
- LINE focuses on light companion use; memory features are limited.
