Is there a point charge for asking about the weather in chat?
In Chat Mode, checking the weather, traffic, and holidays usually does not deduct AI points.

Short Answer
Usually not charged. Asking about weather, traffic, holidays, and my follows in Chat Mode, like in Task Mode, follows the rule parsing, and typically doesn't utilize the large model, nor charges AI points.
How to Determine
- If the prompt next to the input box is green → Usually 0 AI points.
- There may be small text displayed under the assistant bubble, like "Structured Query · Weather".
Exceptions
- If you ask about open-ended small talk (e.g., "Let's chat about the weather mood lately") instead of checking the forecast, it may follow the yellow AI path and deduct points.
- You must have configured Weather settings or My Follows; if not configured, it will only prompt you to set it up, and you will not be charged AI points due to query failure.
