Modes and Charges
Differences between YOYO Task Mode and Chat Mode, the tricolor billing hint, and the differences between LINE and the App.
What this guide covers
YOYO has two modes: Task Mode and Chat Mode. Choosing the right mode can save points and prevent incorrect entries in Space. This page explains when to use which mode, the meanings of the color hints next to the input box, and which queries typically do not charge AI points.

How to Choose in 30 Seconds
| You want to… | Suggested Mode |
|---|---|
| Record tasks, reminders, expenses, or check a list | Task Mode |
| Check weather, traffic, holidays, or my follows | Both modes available (usually 0 AI) |
| Write emails, expand text, open-ended questions | Task Mode may require confirmation; Chat Mode goes directly to AI |
| Vent, have casual talk, continue previous topics | Chat Mode |
Task Mode
- Suitable for recording tasks, reminders, checking weather/traffic/public holidays, and writing minutes.
- Replies are shorter and more definitive; content that can be recorded will be written into My Space.
- Complex writing and AI skills may consume points (there will be prompts next to the input box, often requiring confirm use of AI).
See more at Task Mode.
Chat Mode
- Suitable for venting, casual chatting, and ongoing conversations; by default, chat content is not saved as tasks.
- Structured queries such as weather / traffic / holidays typically do not charge AI points.
- Deep conversations and ongoing conversation memory are more complete in the App; LINE focuses on light companionship.

Charge Tricolor Hint
Before sending, please check the color hint next to the YOYO input box (the charge preview may also appear in Chat Mode):
| Color | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Structured query, usually does not charge AI points | Weather, traffic, holidays, Command Help, note tasks (rule analysis) |
| Yellow | May incur AI conversation in Chat Mode; charge preview available before sending | Casual chatting, asking opinions, continuing conversation |
| Red | Clear AI skills in Task Mode, will consume points | Help me write an email, expand, analyze |
The order of deduction for points and benefits can be found in Benefits, Points, and Membership Relationship.
Structured Query: Both Modes are the Same
The following capabilities share the same rule interpretation in Task Mode and Chat Mode, usually without using large models or charging AI points:
- Weather and Traffic Inquiry
- My Follows (Today's summary, Commute)
- Command Help
In Chat Mode, the tone may be more conversational, but the data source is the same, and numbers won't be specially fabricated for weather inquiries.
How to Switch Modes
- Click the [Chat] / [Task] button below the welcome area or bubble.
- Enter Chat or Task, and press Confirm as prompted by YOYO.
- See YOYO Mode Switching and Command Help·YOYO Modes for details.
LINE and App
- LINE and App can sync the last mode preference.
- LINE companion is a light version (mostly in L0 style); for continuing chats, managing companion memories, and L3 style, please use the App.
- For a comparison table, see Channel Comparison · YOYO Capabilities.
Reply Source Identification
Below the assistant bubble, small text may display such as "Structured Query · Weather", "Saved", or "AI Reply", helping to differentiate response types. You can toggle the Show Reply Source Text switch at the bottom of YOYO settings → Mode and Billing Explanation (enabled by default).
