How DodoAI protects your data: An overview of cloud and local storage, AI desensitization, and your self-management capabilities.
What this guide covers
This guide helps you use AI with confidence while clearly understanding: where your data is stored, how it's desensitized before being sent to AI, and which content you can clean up or export yourself.
Three layers of understanding (recommended reading first)

Rule-based commands like recording a task, reminder, or expense usually don't call a third-party AI at all — that's a different path from the model calls described in "Privacy & AI."

AI privacy protection is on by default Sensitive information such as email addresses and phone numbers can be desensitized before being sent to the model; most modules desensitize and then restore by default (restored to readable form when the reply is displayed).

Configurable per module YOYO chats, automation, each domain's AI suggestions, expense summaries, and more can each have their own desensitization strength.

Control which data AI can read After turning off a certain type of record in Data Sources, automation and AI suggestions stop pulling that type (for example, turning off "Life Expense Records" means expense summaries will no longer read expense details).

Chats can be cleared anytime In YOYO settings → Clear session data, delete the chat history for the current context without affecting the tasks/documents in your Space.

Local and cloud data are managed separately Clearing the local cache on your device ≠ deleting your account data; to bulk-delete cloud history, see Data Cleanup.
